The Smokey Honey Bluesband is a Youngstown/Columbus, Ohio independent band comprised of high school friends Dalton, Austin, Derek, and Smitty at the core. With the help of many different friends, the band has been playing live since roughly 2017 under different monikers and lineups. They also independently recorded and released their debut album, Portrait of a Grave, in 2018. Their sophomore album, Smokey Honey Blues Vol. I followed in late 2020. After the release of their second album, they were faced with some time off much like many others. This disruption allowed for the inception of the current four-piece lineup as well as a return to live shows debuting a finely tuned set list featuring a cohesive mix of shoegaze, dream pop, psychedelic, and tinges of slowcore to make a uniquely built live sound that stands all on its own, sometimes described as "haunted rock n' roll." Having some notable gigs opening for bands ranging from Holy Fawn to The Convenience to Spirit of the Bear, the band is building a following and hitting live shows hard to round out 2023, album number 3 will be released soon as the songs are fine-tuned in the current live set.
