Join JD Eicher and his band in the Birdfish Ballroom on Friday, October 17th at 7 p.m. in celebrating 20 years of performing original music. These select shows will feature special guest opening acts and a unique set of music from JD - including solo and full band performances.

20 YEARS - A NOTE FROM JD:

At the end of high school and into college (20 years ago!!), I started playing my original songs for anyone who would listen. I played on campus (shout out Westminster!); I played in coffee shops; I booked random shows in garages and fields across Pennsylvania. And I just never stopped. The joy of writing music and then getting to perform it became the pursuit.

It’s been sort of a hot air ballon of a career - high highs and low lows and a winding path the whole way. But the band and I have been able to keep this indie project alive thanks to two things:

  1. Stubbornness

  2. The kind people who have shown up for the music

The support has meant the world.

We want to celebrate these 20 years with some special shows. New music, old music. Solo acoustic, full band. Stories, special guests.

I hope you’ll be there. You’re why we’re still here.

JD Eicher is an Ohio musician known for indie rock and alt-pop songwriting that features expressive vocals and meaningful, carefully-crafted lyrics.

An artist who tours in the US and abroad, Eicher has shared billing with a wide range of well-known acts, including Coldplay, Maroon 5, Train, The Zombies, Sister Hazel, Pete Yorn, Red Wanting Blue, and more.

With several full-length albums to his credit, JD was enlisted to create the soundtrack to bestselling author Nicholas Sparks’s (The Notebook, A Walk To Remember) 20th novel, Two By Two. Eicher’s song of the same name - “Two By Two” - was played on Good Morning America, and Eicher and the song are referenced in the novel.

He has since gone on to write his own novel and companion album (The Lights Along Majesto and the album Majesto Sessions) and to continue the trend of being a go-to producer of custom music for various brands and special projects.

You can listen to JD on Spotify and Apple Music.

Opening the evening for JD Eicher is ÁNNO — Ánno is an artist in search of identity, passion, and truth in an age of treacherous social, political, and spiritual landscapes. Crafting songs and sounds to represent the depth of each emotion and experience is at the heart of their artistic mission. For all these reasons and more, Ánno reaches beyond the surface of each musical moment, always pushing and searching for more.

SoundWaves & IPAs Music Festival 2025

SoundWaves & IPAs Music Festival 2025

We’re thrilled to present the 4th Annual SoundWaves & IPAs Music Festival in support of The Summit FM Marilyn Stroud Music Alive Program happening this year on Saturday, July 19th. Expect to hear live music from local bands and musicians all day in the Ballroom along with an impressive lineup of IPAs, but this year they’re not all ours… we’re excited to be partnering with our local brewery homies and putting guest IPAs on tap as well! There will also be one NEW special event can release and tapping this year… we’re bringing you Zed Lupulin III, our 3rd variant of this hopped up rock star 9.9% Hazy Triple IPA.

The Music Alive program was formed by The Summit FM to help young musicians in our local schools realize their dreams and learn the joys of playing an instrument. Through this program, The Summit collects and repairs instruments, and sees they get placed in the hands of kids who will truly appreciate them.

Do YOU have an unloved, dusty and forgotten “gently used” musical instrument in your attic, closet or basement? There are dozens of kids who’d love the chance to learn to play it… kids whose families simply can’t afford the expense of buying their child a musical instrument. Bring these instruments to the SoundWaves & IPAs event on Saturday, July 19th for donation. The Summit staff will be here to collect these instruments and make sure they get to kids who need them. Read more about the Marilyn Stroud Music Alive Program here: https://thesummit.fm/music-alive/

If you don’t have an instrument to donate, no worries… come out anyways, there are still ways to support! We will be donating a portion of proceeds from all IPA sales, including the guest taps to the Marilyn Stroud Music Alive Program. The Summit staff will also be here to collect direct monetary donations if you wish to support this program, which will go directly to the Music Alive so they can purchase instruments for local kids who need them.

We open at Noon on Saturday, July 19th with 7 IPAs on tap and have 7 bands playing throughout the day!

SoundWaves Live Music Lineup:

  • 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. — Riley Burke (Youngstown, Ohio - Acoustic Singer/Songwriter)

  • 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. — Fyath (Beaver County, PA - All Original Rock Band)

  • 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. — Rolling Boxcar International (Youngstown, Ohio - Cosmic American Music)

  • 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. The Setiments (Youngstown, Ohio — Surfy Punk Rock Band)

  • 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. — Rebreather (Youngstown, Ohio — Heavy Noise Rock)

We will be tapping Zed Lupulin III and releasing it in cans on Saturday, July 19th at Noon when the taproom doors open. This is our 3rd annual variation of this Hazy Triple IPA which is double dry hopped with Galaxy & Vic Secret. It will be on tap alongside Pineapple OG, our Pineapple Milkshake Double IPA and these tasty brews:
