Join us Thursday, May 1st for a fundraiser in the taproom to support the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio. This inaugural “Dollars for Scholars” event will raise funds for the Franklin B. Walter scholarship, which is a statewide award started in 1990 to honor Franklin B. Walter, former Ohio State Superintendent, and to recognize one top student scholar from each county in Ohio. Franklin B. Walter served as state superintendent from March 1977 until August 1991. Locally, the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio, awards a scholarship to one student from Columbiana county and another to a student from Mahoning county. This hazy, super juicy DIPA is blasted full of notes of pineapple and other citrus fruits with creamy tropical flavors that leave hints of mango and paw paw fruit. We’re opening up early at 10 a.m. this year! Space Candy will be on tap and available to-go in cans, but this year in a 12 oz. can with commemorative “May The 4th” label artwork by RAT Creative — Limit one 6-pack per person. Live music from The Modernes in the Ballroom from Noon to 3 p.m. The Modernes are an Americana, Roots and Surf Rock band from Akron, Ohio. They bring a high flying guitar forward act to the stage. Their sound has been described as a vigorous, vibrant form of amped-up Americana, which incorporates a host of different styles from surf and rockabilly to exuberant roots rock. It’s an intoxicating blend, which is as much fun for the listener as it sounds to be for the band.

Fiesta like there's no mañana! Speedy Pingüino is back on tap and available in cans to-go! Our 5% summer seasonal Mexican lager brewed with agave nectar + we’ll be serving these 5 fresh margaritas to go along with Kip’s Tacos who will be setup on the patio serving extended hours from 4-9 p.m.:

• Clásico - fresh juiced limes, water, and a simple syrup made with organic cane sugar that's infused with blood orange zest.

• Blood Orange - fresh juiced blood oranges and limes, water, and organic cane sugar simple syrup.

• Strawberry Sage - fresh pressed strawberries, limes, water, organic cane sugar simple syrup, and sage.

• Pineapple Coconut - fresh pressed pineapples, limes, coconut, organic cane sugar simple syrup.

​Points will be accumulated during 5 weeks of league play on Tuesdays from April 1st to April 29th, followed by a seeded tournament in week 6 on May 6th.

Entry Fee of $20 per team for league play.  100% payout during final tournament.

Play begins at 7 p.m. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early. Each team will play (3) 20 minute games per night against 3 other teams (10 minute beer break in between games). Stick around for extra pickup games after league play from 8:30 to 9 p.m.

​Birdfish House Rules:

• Accumulate as many points as possible per timed 20 minute game, no limit. 

• First dealer determined by first turned up black jack

• Dealer offers player to the right to cut

• Player does not need to have a bauer or trump in their hand to call up a dealer

• No table talk is allowed, opposing team will be awarded 2 points

• Do not endorse farmers hand, no trump, reverse no trump, ace no face, etc.

• The only technique endorsed is "screw the dealer"

• If a player goes alone and takes all 5 tricks, 4 points are awarded

• If the team that does not call trump takes 3 tricks, 2 points are awarded

• Teams will be able to use a substitute player each week if needed, but one player on the 2 member roster must be in attendance. Teams will be allowed to use one substitute team for one week only in the event they can't attend due to sickness, vacation, etc.

• If a team does not show and no substitute team is available to play, the team that is  present will receive points based on the overall average score for league play that day.

• Revoke Rule will result in 2 points to the team it occurred against and the hand is immediately ended (4 points will be awarded it on a loner).  The Revoke Rule is an occurrence where a player fails to follow suit when possible.

• Semi-final and final matches in tournament will have a referee

• Random generator is used to set team numbers during league play

Join Golden String Radio in the Ballroom the 2nd Friday of every month from 7-9PM for some tunes, a little trivia, and FREE SOCKS! We’re donating $1 per per poured during the event to our Golden String Friends. Golden String will pass around an old Folger’s coffee can to support St. Jude’s Hospital in Tennessee. Golden String client, Susan Cramer, collects loose change for St. Jude’s. Susan, a friend with cerebral palsy, a woman with severe physical disabilities, rolls the change and sends it to Tennessee. Please bring your spare change to donate. We will clean off the lint.

Golden String Inc. is a 501(c)3 not for profit incorporation with a sole purpose to improve the quality of life for adults with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, and traumatic brain injury. We have a full liquor license in the taproom and we’ll be featuring a Columbus, Ohio made Vodka from High Bank Distillery. High Bank Vodka is clean and crisp with a hint of sweetness. It is distilled from organic wheat and Ohio apples.

Let’s do an adult beverage and breakfast all in one! Head to the bar when you arrive to purchase your Bloody Mary ticket. Our bartenders will hook you up with a cup, vodka, and ice, then head to the Food Truck to get a custom made Bloody Mary mix of your liking and your toppers. De-Lishas will be offering 2 levels of toppers for the Bloody Mary, a BASIC and a DELUXE both priced accordingly. Join Golden String Radio in the Ballroom the 2nd Friday of every month from 7-9PM for some tunes, a little trivia, and FREE SOCKS! We’re donating $1 per per poured during the event to our Golden String Friends. Golden String will pass around an old Folger’s coffee can to support St. Jude’s Hospital in Tennessee. Golden String client, Susan Cramer, collects loose change for St. Jude’s. Susan, a friend with cerebral palsy, a woman with severe physical disabilities, rolls the change and sends it to Tennessee. Please bring your spare change to donate. We will clean off the lint.

Golden String Inc. is a 501(c)3 not for profit incorporation with a sole purpose to improve the quality of life for adults with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, and traumatic brain injury. Golden String specifically aims at improving vocational and social opportunities for our friends with disabilities. Golden String runs programs such as goldenstringradio.org, a radio station run by adults with disabilities, Joe Gallagher’s lunch bucket, a restaurant run by adults with disabilities, Gabbacamp, an overnight camp for adults with disabilities, and the Feral Cats, a rock and roll band consisting of adults with disabilities.
