Larry Elefante lives in a storyline of Outlaw Country tunes & Back Porch grooves, meandering through story time with both hyperbole and bittersweet honesty.
Originally formed in Brooklyn, NY under the name of Uncle Larry, the duo began to run a series of shows at local BK bars, open stages, pubs, galleries and parties, gathering friends and family along the way. The road eventually lead to Athens, OH, where Larry originally got it's roots playing smokey bars, basements and back porches. After meeting with the legendary producer Eddie Ashworth, Larry decided it was time to put these efforts into creating the first real and cohesive piece of music. After a brief period with no name and no band and a whole new set of questions, Larry Elefante was conceived...and here we are today, cutting country songs and back porch ramblings with a rotating cast of players.
Larry Elefante - "i get sentimental" is the first efforts by this namesake and exists as an homage to family, friendship, failure, love, heartbreak, finding a home and to the bittersweet that is life. The album includes a cast of 41 souls including members of such institutions as Turkuaz, Elephant Wrecking Ball, Dopapod, John Brown's Body, Odesza, Tongues Unknown, HellNaw, Doxcity, Mama Juke, Swap Meet, Uptowne Buddha, Word of Mouth Jazz Band, LargeMouth Brass Band, Peach Melba, and many many more.
