Step back in time and savor the flavors of bourbon whiskey with the soul-stirring sounds of an ‘ol time string band. Whiskey Picks & Fiddle Licks is happening Saturday, January 18th from Noon to 4pm in the Ballroom.
Get set for an adventure that will etch itself in your memory forever! We have been collecting some rare, exclusive, and hard-to-get bottles for a year, waiting to share them with you at this special event. We’re removing all tables from the Ballroom and creating an open space for you to walk around and sample a variety of bourbons. Expect a fun atmosphere with live music during the bourbon fest from Down the Road Old-Time String Band (Cleveland, Ohio) and DJ tiltnboogie will be spinning a humble collection of lost and found country, bluegrass, jump blues, and juke joint records during the bands breaks. Whether you’re a bourbon aficionado or just love a good time, this event is for you!
This is a ticketed event limited to 125 people. There are two ticket levels, a VIP session and General session. VIP access to the event begins at Noon, while General access to the event begins at 1PM. The event will continue through 4PM and will take place in the Ballroom. Pre-sale cost per person for the VIP session with early access is $55. Pre-sale cost per person for General session is $45. Companions, spouses, or significant others are welcome to join at no cost, but only those with tickets will receive pours to taste. Included with your ticket is a Birdfish logo branded and event specific 6.5 oz. Rastal Teku Taster and 8 tickets to sample the 20+ bourbons and whiskeys available at the event. Austin from SimpleTimes Mixers is bringing a selection of fresh all natural organic cocktails which are, vegan friendly, additive free, preservative free and contain fresh squeezed fruit, cold pressed citrus, fresh pressed organic ginger, and organic house made cane sugar simple syrup. Both Buffalo Trace Bourbon & High Bank Distillery Vodka cocktails will be available. Use your tickets as you please for straight bourbon samples or cocktails. If you have a cocktail you really enjoy and want to take a mixer or syrup home, Austin will have some available to purchase retail.
Down the Road Old-Time String Band performs American “mountain music” also known as “old-time.” This style of music is played by a worldwide community of folk musicians at events including square dances, contra dances, and fiddler’s conventions. The three band members, all Northeast Ohio natives, include Paul Kirk (Fiddle), Stephen Rapp (Banjo), and Michael Seiser (Guitar).
Hoshi Japanese Hibachi Food Truck will be setup on the patio serving from 12-8pm as well as Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Truck from 12-5pm.
Kathy from Whiskey Stix (Salem, Ohio) will be setup during the fest with free samples and bags to sell.
