Bourbon & Bluegrass: Bourbon Festival with Hunter Skeens & The Forerunners
Where the bourbon’s smooth and the strings run deep, Hunter Skeens & The Forerunners set the soundtrack for an afternoon of timeless flavor — Join us Saturday, January 17th in the Ballroom from Noon to 4 p.m. for the 2nd Annual Winter Bourbon & Bluegrass Festival.
Get set for an adventure that will etch itself in your memory forever! We have been collecting some rare, exclusive, and hard-to-get bottles for a year, waiting to share them with you at this special event. We’re removing all tables from the Ballroom and creating an open space for you to walk around and sample a variety of bourbons. Expect a fun atmosphere with live ‘Jamgrass’ music during the bourbon fest from Hunter Skeens & The Forerunners (https://hunterskeens.com/). Whether you’re a bourbon aficionado or just love a good time, this event is for you!
This is a ticketed event limited to 125 people. There are two ticket levels, a VIP session and General session. VIP access to the event begins at Noon, while General access to the event begins at 1PM. The event will continue through 4PM and will take place in the Ballroom. Pre-sale cost per person for the VIP session with early access is $55. Pre-sale cost per person for the General session is $45. Companions, spouses, or significant others are welcome to join at no cost, but only those with tickets will receive pours to taste. Included with your ticket is an Official 6.75 oz. Glencairn Whiskey Glass laser etched with Birdfish logos and 8 tickets (+ 2 Bonus tickets SEE BELOW) to sample the 30+ bourbons and whiskeys available at the event. We’re planning to release our 2nd annual collaboration ‘Off The High Bank’ Barrel Aged Beer Series with High Bank Distillery on Saturday, January 17th at the fest! If everything works out with beer production, canning, etc. you will be able to taste the barrel aged beer that matches up with one of these High Bank Whiskeys. A beer tasting included with this bonus whiskey tasting side-by-side.
BONUS TASTE NO. 2: Shinobu Barrel Cooperage will be setup in the in the Ballroom with a special Buffalo Trace Bourbon tasting. A side-by-side tasting comparing the difference between Buffalo Trace aged in one of their 5 liter barrels for just 4 months, which is compared to a 53 gallon bourbon barrel aging over 1 year. Shinobu Barrel Cooperage is a local group in Mahoning county building quality barrels from raw materials to a finished aging barrel. Some of their barrels will also be on display, for retail sale, and custom orders accepted for future build. These aged american white oak barrels come with #3 char level and are available in 5 or 10 liter barrel size. The barrel is ready for your any spirit you choose. This allows the product to infinity age only making it better. As the product from differential atmospheric pressure flows in and out of the white oak while the charred inside acts as a filter removing unwanted flavors.

Casey from SimpleTimes Mixers is bringing a selection of fresh all natural organic cocktails which are vegan friendly, additive free, preservative free and contain fresh squeezed fruit, cold pressed citrus, fresh pressed organic ginger, and organic house made cane sugar simple syrup. High Bank Distillery Bourbon & Vodka cocktails will be available. Use your tickets as you please for straight bourbon samples or cocktails. If you have a cocktail you really enjoy and want to take a mixer or syrup home, Casey will have some available to purchase retail.
